The Kaduna State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project has received a delegation from the Centre for Dryland Agriculture (CDA) to support the development of agroforestry, agribusiness and Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) value chains in the state.

Receiving the delegation, Kaduna ACReSAL State Project Coordinator, Hadiza I. Halid Esq., said the engagement was part of ongoing efforts to provide technical support to participating ACReSAL states.

She explained that the collaboration would develop strategies for market value addition in identified catchments, including Rigasa, Kawo, Zaria, Saminaka, Kudan, Jama’a and Kauru, while ensuring equitable representation across the state.

The team, led by Dr. Nuraddeen Danjuma, said the exercise would focus on improving agroforestry practices and enhancing the market value of NTFPs.

The assessment will involve visits to ACReSAL project sites and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with beneficiaries to identify opportunities for value addition and sustainable livelihoods
